In April 2016, the Polish Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands organised a study visit for 20 representatives of banks and financial institutions from the Kujawy and Pomerania Voivodship specialising in the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups.

The purpose of the mission was to provide participants with knowledge concerning the SME sector funding and crediting system in Holland, one of the most functional and effective in the industry in Europe.

Visit attendants spent four intense days in the Netherlands; the mission was an opportunity to meet representatives of banking and financial institutions operating in Holland, and representatives of Polish diplomatic services.

On day one, a meeting with ING Bank was organised, a chief player on the Dutch financial market.

Mr. Tomasz Waźbiński, Head of the Division for Trade and Investment Promotion at the Polish Embassy, was host of day two. He presented the perspectives and rules of Polish regions’ co-operation with the Division for Trade and Investment Promotion. Meetings with representatives of the private equity and venture capital market, and with innovation-funding organisations (such as NVP and Innovation Quarter) followed.

On the final day, mission attendants were received by the Ministry of Economy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and by the Dutch Agency for Entrepreneurship (RVO); in the course of trhose meetings, financial assistance tools and measures extended by the Dutch government to the SME sector were discussed.
